We would like to introduce and welcome Rachel McLoughlin as the new YTU Chaplain.
Rachel is a Loreto Sister living in Melbourne originally from South Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy, a Masters in theology (from YTU) and is a graduate of the Arrupe program being a giver of the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius with a Graduate Diploma in Spiritual direction (YTU) and qualifications in supervision of Ignatian spiritual directors.
Rachel is currently working with Mary Ward International, is on a Loreto College board and works at Cabrini Asylum Seeker and Refugee Health hub in physiotherapy. She is also passionate about spiritual direction with a particular focus on leadership formation in the Catholic Health network. She is very involved in the preparation for the 2020 Plenary Council of the Australian Catholic Church as a member of the discernment and writing group for a ‘Healing, Humble and Merciful Church’.
Rachel is currently offering spiritual direction and supervision online to various leaders on the front line in our catholic hospital networks. Currently a member on the National Formation Team for the First Spiritual Exercises Ministry of St Ignatius, Rachel is keen to offer an experience of retreat in daily life online to our YTU community.
