Welcome back to YTU for Semester 2 starting July 27 2020.
Firstly, we hope that you are safe and well during this challenging health crisis in Victoria. It is important that we stay connected on all levels at this time, particularly when physical distancing is necessary to overcome this COVID19 pandemic. As the chaplain appointed to YTU immediately prior to our move to online learning I am yet to meet most students face to face, however, I am very keen to accompany anyone online in our community who would like support. You may feel the desire to explore what is emerging for you as the world around us seems to be changing rapidly. Anything from feeling anxious and desiring inner peace to feelings of sadness and missing home are well worth sharing with others. Please contact me, Rachel McLoughlin ibvm at and we can make a time to meet via zoom (if you are not zoomed out already!)
As a community prayer, I would like to share a contemplation I put together with another Loreto sister Susan Daily ibvm who is an artist. We explored the Beatitudes as a way of dismantling racism. The moral theology unit I studied at YTU a few years ago with Philip was foundational for my thinking.
