Heart of Life – Director vacancy

Applications are invited for the position of Director of Heart of Life Centre for Spiritual & Pastoral Formation. Following the retirement of Emeritus Professor Paul Beirne, this is an initial three year appointment beginning January 1, 2022, with the possibility of ongoing extensions of three-years.

Heart of Life, sponsored by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, was founded in 1983.
It offers a ministry in spirituality, the formation of spiritual directors and
pastoral supervisors, spiritual direction, pastoral supervision, and reflection events.
Because of its international reputation, participants from Australia and overseas
attend Heart of Life’s formation programs in spiritual direction, supervision and
spiritual leadership. The Centre’s Siloam and Spiritual Leaders programs are
accredited by Yarra Theological Union (YTU) and the University of Divinity.

The Director upholds the Mission and Vision of Heart of Life and is responsible for
the overall administration of the Centre, the leadership of a part-time staff, the
maintaining of the spirit and professionalism of the Centre, and the relationship with
YTU and the University of Divinity. He/she is accountable to the Provincial Superior
of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. The position is full-time, and the successful
applicant will begin at Heart of Life on 1 January 2022. Remuneration for the position
will be discussed at the time of the interview and based on the applicant’s experience
and qualifications.
