Barry Rogers is an experienced counsellor who was formerly in private practice and who has been a consultant with some Anglican dioceses for their ordination selection process. He continues with mentoring for clergy professional development.

Barry was ordained in 1984 and worked in both parish and university chaplaincy/pastoral care roles till 2009 with the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne. He has completed doctoral research in New Testament studies and Psychology; has taught as an adjunct lecturer with both theological colleges and universities; and consulted as a researcher with schools and church organizations.  

His current practice-based interests include Positive Education and Resilience programs for students and staff in educational and ministry-based organizations. He has also completed research and evaluation studies using qualitative and mixed design methods, including mental health literacy programs for adolescents on loss, grief and resilience issues; empowerment of families during the dying process; and training and professional development pathways for clergy; and health and wellbeing support for ministers. His teaching and practice interests draw upon evidence-based research in mental health and spirituality related to ministry wellbeing and formation.
